The software is used to test the impacts of changes to the road network (such as new junctions, revised traffic signals, new housing / commercial developments) and how it impacts journeys times and the routes car drivers undertake travelling from their origin to destination. It is used as part of making transport planning policies and deciding investment on new highway projects including CRSTS schemes.
