The NHS Health Check programme was established to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease. Patients aged 40 -74, who have not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions, are invited once every five years for a health check to assess their risk of developing CVD within the next 10 years. Patients will be given advice and support to help them reduce or manage the risk.
